CLSU Advances Inclusivity and Safe Spaces through “Hue Belong” Seminar
The Central Luzon State University (CLSU) through the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the University Supreme Student Council (USSC), and the CLSU Paruparong Bukid held an educational seminar dubbed “Hue Belong: Mas Happy ‘Pag May Equality” on March 6, 2026, at the Auditorium. The Hue Belong seminar advocates for building and maintaining inclusivity, affirming spaces for the queer community and the wider population. The program begins with a series of talks that focus on respect, safety, and equal treatment for all students. Speakers from Babaylanes Inc., Mr. Bryon Neil A. Senga and Ms. Saira Pambid, led sessions on Building Safe Spaces and SOGIE 101. Mr. Senga explained that ideas about femininity are changing from old stereotypes of fragility to broader, more empowered views, while Ms. Pambid stressed that both students and the university must work together to keep the campus safe and respectful. Babaylanes Inc. is a non-profit organization that empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth through human rights education, capacity-building, and advocacy. It convenes the National LGBT Students Network to coordinate campus LGBT organizing. Furthermore, the event included a Couch Session that tackled several topics, including self-identity and belonging, with Mx. ML Tucay, who also gave a performance that highlighted the program’s message. This event forms part of CLSU’s celebration of Women’s Month and reflects the institution’s continuing commitment to building a more inclusive community - one that upholds safety, dignity, and equal opportunities for all members of the University. #SievingForExcellence
