The Central Luzon State University-Reserved Officer Training Corps (CLSU-ROTC) won three individual awards among all ROTC units in Region 3 in the 2008 Regional Annual Administrative and Performance Evaluation (RAAPE) conducted last February 5. These awards are Best in Theoretical Examinations, Best in Administration and Best in Disassembly and Assembly of M16 Rifle.
The evaluation team was chaired by Col. Flaviano M. Bernardo, vice-chairman was Lt. Col. Cesar G. Mejico while the members were Maj. Cesar M. Magsuay, Maj. Denton P. Kelly, 2Lt. Francisco Q. Vidal, MSg. Juanito G. Mangrobang, TSg. Mike E. Gacusan and Sgt. Felix Andrew D. Dural of the 3rd Regional Community Defense Group Army Reserve Command.
Last year, the CLSU-ROTC was champion in the RAAPE. It did not join the overall competition this year due to a lack of enrollees in the ROTC course. However, the CLSU-ROTC remains defending champion in the next year’s competition.
Meanwhile, the ROTC Graduation Exercises and Ball were held at the university gymnatorium last March 8 wherein Pres. Ruben C. Sevilleja served as the keynote speaker.
Mr. Cesar F. Tomas is the coordinator of the CLSU-ROTC while Dr. Firma C. Viray serves as the overall coordinator of the National Service Training Programs in the university.
